Cottingham Show

The Cottingham show was primarily a family fun day but with a serious message about locally grown produce. Les Deeley and Martin Ellis (Halsham Salads) fitted their curtain-sided trailer with sturdy safety rails and steps to form the basis of the CGA stand.

The main activity was a ‘decorate a cucumber’ competition for all ages. The competition was a huge success with 220 fantastic entries. All the entrants received a goody bag with CGA novelties and leaflets while the winners had their designs printed onto T-shirts.

In addition, we offered recipes and cucumber tasting, and generally raised awareness about the local industry and the qualities of locally produced healthy food.
