The Great Yorkshire Show is now the largest Agricultural / Horticultural Show in the UK and attracts visitors from all over the country.
Our involvement in both 2010 and 2011 was part of the NFU's drive to promote local food and was organised through Phil Clarkson at Hedon Salads. The initiative was entitled "Meet the Growers". The CGA cucumber shared a stand with peppers, aubergines and tomatoes, and there were also stands from local carrot, potato, leafy salad, living salads, rhubarb, mushroom and herb producers plus some small mixed growers and farm shops.
The show patron, the Prince of Wales, visited the CGA stand and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, showed special interest in Phil Clarkson’s display of British produce.
There was a lot of interest from the public and the NFU considered it to have been a tremendous success in both years.
