Saturday 17th September saw the first of what is hoped will be many Cucumber days to celebrate the production and consumption of cucumbers in and around the Lea Valley. The weather was quite good, the attendance was very good - the cucumbers were excellent!



 There were a large number of entries in the decorate the cucumber competition - here are a few -  

The longest cucumber competition was won by Mr Pascale with a 73.5 cm whopper of uncertain age - but it was the longest! The longest cucumber is seen being shown off by Eleanor Laing - the local MP - and Heather Thirtle FRICS - President of the Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce.
